Description
Lovely set of four antique silver-gilt sauce labels; of cartouche form, each with a floral scroll border and finely pierced "titles." These will have been used on the glass bottles to a Georgian silver cruet frame, the labels identify Anchovy, Cayenne, Ketchup and Soy. One has been meticulously copied 22 years after the other three, almost certainly to replace one that had been mislaid. Super quality and absolutely charming.3 x London. 1824. John Reily.
