Description

Victorian silver tea caddy/vase, with domed shaped pull-off lid. The whole piece is highly decorated with half-fluting, gadrooning and flat chasing, and of great quality. It's manufacture and retailing history is very interesting; made by a fine silversmith, imported into the UK by another respected silversmith/sponsor, and retailed by one of London's most discerning retailers of the period. Every step of it's journey bears the relevant hallmark. Wonderful item.
